Paris to become 100% cyclable in four years
The French capital is investing €250 million to expand its network of bike lanes to become one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world. From now until 2026, the city will gain 112 miles of new permanent segregated bike lanes; and as part of the city’s new Bike Plan, the number of bike parking spots will more than triple, with 180,000 more added to the current total of 60,000.

Austria’s go-anywhere “climate ticket”
Austrians are being encouraged to ditch their cars to help save the planet with a new travel pass, which will allow them to travel anywhere in the country. For just three euros, the Klimaticket (“climate pass”) can be used on all publicly and privately operated rail, metro and bus networks from Vienna to Salzburg and everywhere in between.

Milan is being transformed into an urban forest
Milan, perhaps best known as Italy’s industrial powerhouse and a global fashion hub, has announced it will plant three million trees by 2030. Stefano Boeri, the architect responsible for the city’s striking “vertical forest”––a home for trees, humans and birds––will also be involved with this new city-wide plan, which will plant one tree for each citizen.
